Since 1978, YWCA Lancaster has provided safe, nurturing, and enriching Child Development services for children ages six weeks to five years old. Year-round programs are also available for school-age children in Lancaster City and Penn Manor School District through age twelve. These flexible and affordable services enable hard-working families to continue earning an income while ensuring their children receive a quality education.

Early Learning Development
YWCA Lancaster’s Child Enrichment Center programs combine a safe and happy educational environment with an intentional, proven curriculum designed to stimulate intellectual, emotional, and social growth – all with the focus of preparing children for success in their next stages of education. Our Early Learning programs start at infancy and extend through Preschool to provide consistent, safe, and exceptional care.
School Age Development
YWonderful Kids Before & After School and supplemental Kindergarten WRAP programs help fill a gap for working families by keeping kids safe when not in school. Kindergartners and school age kids balance learning and fun before and after school while developing social skills and engaging with positive adult role models.

Our curriculum demonstrates a commitment to eliminating racism and offers children opportunities to celebrate differences and learn to value diversity. All YWCA Lancaster Child Development programs embody the ideals of the YWCA – peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
YWCA Lancaster Child Development programs voluntarily participate in the Pennsylvania Keystone Stars Program. Keystone STARS is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning to improve, support and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania.
All of our staff meet or exceed state licensing requirements. Subsidized care is available through various funding sources. Resources are available for those with limited English proficiency.

Summer Camp 2024
The YWCA Summer Enrichment Program is a great way to make every summer day a great one! We provide children the opportunity to develop new skills, self-confidence, new friends, and a sense of belonging. Some field trips include: Lancaster Science Factory, Lake Tobias, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, museums and more!

Hambright Location Directions: Park in the parking lot on the left side of the school and walk to the back of the building towards the playground. Then, turn right and walk towards the wall of windows. There is a door with YWCA information, which is where you will enter.
Summer Camp will take place Monday – Friday from 6:30am – 5:30pm
