Mobilize through Movies
September 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join the discussion as we debut a new monthly series focused on social justice related films. YWCA Lancaster educator, Danielle Perez, and Millersville Peer Educator, Lisa Conolly, will be co-facilitating a post-viewing dialogue on the documentary Audrie and Daisy. Join them in discussing rape culture, victim-blaming, and the impacts of social media on survivors. Millersville’s Peer Educator will speak to college sexual assault and bystander intervention strategies on campuses. Please note that due to COVID-19 this event will be held virtually on Zoom until further notice. The Zoom links will be the same for future discussions.
Can’t make it?
Join us for future discussions every second Tuesday of the month. October’s guest speaker will include the Human Trafficking advocate from YWCA York, discussing the Netflix Series: ‘Jeffrey Epstein: Fifthly Rich.’ Other topics and films will explore other forms of oppression.
– Film can be found on Netflix. Similar to the format of a book club, attendees are responsible for accessing film on their own.
– Trigger warning: content contains recounts of sexual violence and suicide.
– 24-hour sexual assault hotline number – (717)-392-7273
For any questions or concerns, please contact Danielle Perez at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (717)-945-7302.
