YWCA Lancaster is proud to uplift the incredible impact of all female-identifying community members through the Women of Achievement Awards: a celebration of the talent and inspiration that is helping to move Lancaster County towards a just future.

2024 Women of Achievement
We welcome your nominations for female identifying individuals for our 8th Annual Women of Achievement Awards! Deadline for submissions is 5 p.m., Friday June 14, 2024.
Why We Recognize Female Identifying Community Members
Female identifying community members of every race, class, and ethnic background have made historic contributions to the growth and strength of our county in countless recorded and unrecorded ways. Whether they are cisgender, transgender, or identify as gender expansive, these individuals constitute a significant portion of the labor force, working inside and outside of the home, and they have provided the majority of the volunteer labor force of the county and establishing early charitable, philanthropic, and cultural institutions including YWCA Lancaster in 1889. Female-identifying people have served as leaders in the forefront of every major progressive social change movement here. They have been leaders, not only in securing their own rights of suffrage and equal opportunity, but also in the abolitionist movement, the emancipation movement, the industrial labor movement, the civil rights movement, and other movements to create a more fair and just society for all. The Women of Achievement Awards is a community event that recognizes and honors all female identifying individuals who have demonstrated qualities of leadership and excellence in their professional and personal endeavors while supporting YWCA Lancaster’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
