YWCA Lancaster’s Healthy Masculinity Program Presents:
Educating the Next Generation of Boys and Young Men
Join us for a community conversation on one of the most pressing — and underexplored — challenges facing families and schools today.
Research consistently shows that boys and young men are falling behind girls academically, a gap that widens through middle school and into higher education. What's driving this trend? What does it mean for our community? And what can parents, educators, and community organizations do about it?
On July 18, 2–4pm, YWCA Lancaster’s Healthy Masculinity Program will host a moderated panel discussion bringing together educators, counselors, and community leaders to explore the gender gap in education — what it looks like in Lancaster County, what's behind it, and what works.
Panelists include:
Dr. Floyd D. Beachum, Bennett Professor of Urban School Leadership at Lehigh University, whose research focuses on equity and academic achievement
Malinda Harnish Clatterbuck, Executive Director of the Conestoga River Club, therapist, and community leader committed to justice and wellbeing
This conversation is for everyone — parents, educators, counselors, and community members of all backgrounds and perspectives. Come ready to listen, question, and think together.
