Step Into Your Future

A Place to Call Home

YWCA Lancaster has steadily adapted its many services for women over the years to meet emerging community needs, but has continued to maintain its housing program, the oldest and second largest in the county. While the Kepler Hall Residence Program offers a continuum of housing options, these programs provide more than housing assistance. With a focus on the establishment of well-defined goals and objectives, single women and single-parent families are offered an opportunity to break the cycle and achieve self-sufficiency. Support is provided to residents to help them find permanent housing and employment and to strengthen their life skills.

YWCA Lancaster was established in 1889 to provide safe and affordable housing for women and families.

Our Mission

YWCA Lancaster's Kepler Hall Residence empowers women through safe, affordable housing and supportive services. Our program provides a stable and dignified environment where residents can focus on personal growth and achieving independence.

Support at Kepler Hall

  • Permanent Residence

At Kepler Hall, we believe that safe, affordable housing is the foundation for building a strong future. If you are in need of a permanent place to call home, we offer a welcoming space where single women can rebuild, grow, and thrive.

The nurturing support provided by staff has helped many residents to get back on their feet and to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Here, every resident is met with dignity and the resources to take the next step toward independence and long-term stability.

As part of YWCA Lancaster’s mission to empower women, our permanent housing program is reserved for single women.

  • Emergency Shelter

If you or someone you know is seeking shelter, please call 211 to begin the process. YWCA Lancaster is unable to accept direct applications for our Emergency Family Shelter rooms.

YWCA Lancaster offers six Emergency Family Shelter rooms for single parents with children up to 18 years old. Emergency Family Shelter is a short-term shelter. During a family’s stay, they will receive the support they need to rebuild.

To qualify for Emergency Family Shelter, families are pre-screened and referred through Lancaster County’s coordinated entry process.
