YWCA Lancaster’s Lancaster Votes initiative is dedicated to empowering our community through voter education, registration, and participation. We believe that every vote matters and that civic engagement is essential to promoting equity, justice, and systemic change. As a volunteer, you can play a vital role in helping more people in Lancaster make their voices heard and advocate for the issues that impact their lives.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Voter Registration Drives
Help community members register to vote at local events, community centers, and public spaces. Volunteers will provide forms, assist with questions, and share resources on voter eligibility and deadlines.Phone/Text Banking
Join our outreach team to contact voters directly through phone or text banking. Volunteers will share critical voting information, answer questions, and provide reminders for upcoming elections.Event Support
Assist at community events hosted by Lancaster Votes, such as rallies, forums, and voter engagement fairs. Volunteers will help set up, manage booths, and distribute voter education materials.Canvassing
Hit the streets and knock on doors to encourage voter participation in key neighborhoods. Canvassing efforts are especially focused on historically disenfranchised communities.
Training and Resources: All volunteers will receive training on voter registration laws, election policies, and effective outreach strategies. We provide all the materials and support you need to make an impact in our community.
