The Sexual Assault Hotline is operated by trained staff and volunteers. Callers may utilize the hotline for several reasons, including, but not limited to: crisis intervention services, questions about resources and referrals related to sexual violence; inquiries about counseling; and requests to provide medical advocacy at local hospitals. Emergency Shelter

YWCA Lancaster has 6 Emergency Family Shelter rooms for single parents with children up to 18. Emergency Family Shelter is a short-term shelter. During a family’s stay, they will receive weekly case management to assist with housing, employment, mental health, and any other additional needs they may have.

To qualify for Emergency Family Shelter, families must be pre-screened and referred through CHART. If you or someone you know is seeking shelter, please call 211 to begin the process. All applications are kept for 90 days. Applicants will be contacted by YWCA Lancaster when there is an opening.

If you are in need of emergency shelter due to a domestic violence situation, contact the YWCA Domestic Violence Hot Line +1 (717) 392-7273 or call 911 for local law enforcement who will in turn contact the YWCA.

Referrals

If you are an emergency shelter or outside agency making a referral for housing, call 221.
