Chief Equity Officer

YWCA Lancaster, whose mission is to eliminate racism and empower women, is looking for a Chief Equity Officer. This position will support our commitment and strategy to be a diverse, anti-racist, equitable, and inclusive organization and promote partnering across the county for our mission work. The primary activity in the first year is to act as a key liaison to lead a county wide initiative to develop a Racial Equity Profile in Lancaster. In subsequent years, the role will change to more active engagement across YWCA Lancaster programs and Lancaster County initiatives to improve racial equity. She/he/they will provide oversight and leadership for the YWCA Lancaster Center for Racial and Gender Equity and participate as a member of the YWCA’s senior management team and work with all programmatic teams supporting their efforts to ensure that organizational culture, practice, and leadership development programming are anchored in our vision for equity and inclusion.

Requires a minimum of a BA/BS in social work, psychology, business, education or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum 10 years’ experience advocating for and implementing change within a multi-cultural environment. Minimum 3 years’ experience developing and implementing diversity/equity/inclusion programs. Direct service, nonprofit experience preferred. Ability to communicate in languages beyond English preferred. Proven work experience will be considered alongside education. Desire and ability to embody the YWCA’s mission of empowering women and eliminating racism.

This position requires an inspiring, collaborative, courageous, innovative, and visionary leader with outstanding people and management skills. This work requires superb communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong diplomacy skills. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines and to produce accurate records. Ability to manage multiple projects. Exceptional leadership skills. Experience developing and implementing trainings. Demonstrated content knowledge of the diversity, equity, and inclusion research base and best practices for organizations striving to become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Proven track record of successful engaging with and demonstrating understanding of cultural values and norms of various communities, particularly communities of color, LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities.

Full-time Teacher in our Childcare Program

The YWCA Lancaster is looking for Teachers in our Childcare Program. This position provides age-appropriate educational instruction to children in Early Head Start, Pre-K Counts and School Age Childcare. A minimum of a Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is required.

Full-time Teacher - SACC

YWCA Lancaster is looking for a FT Teacher in our School Age Childcare Program. This position provides continued educational instruction to children before and after half day kindergarten. A minimum of an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field, is required. The hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday. This position starts at $15.00/hour – actual rate of pay depends on education and experience. Bilingual Counselor and Educator

YWCA Lancaster is looking for a dedicated and dynamic person to fill a role of Bilingual Counselor and Educator. This position is part-time with benefits (30 hours a week). The person in this role will specifically provide counseling, at our downtown and mobile sites, for children and adults who have experienced sexual violence. The person in the role will also provide primary prevention education programming.

A Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or related field is required, Master’s degree preferred. Experience in counseling and public speaking preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Part-Time Before & After School Childcare Staff - Millersville

YWCA Lancaster is looking for PT Before and After School Staff.  Our School Age Childcare operates in Millersville from 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – various shifts are available.  Minimum of 9 credits in Elementary Education, SACC Credential, or 2,500 hours of childcare experience is required. Position starts at $15.00/hour – actual rate of pay depends on education and experience.

Parent Educator (Bilingual preferred)

The YWCA is currently seeking qualified candidates to work with families that are involved with Lancaster County Children and Youth Social Services Agency. As a Parent Educator, you would be teaching and modeling parenting skills, identifying the parent’s needs of household management, helping to re-build self-esteem, identifying and promoting life management skills, and assist in the building of a support system for the family. This is done through a personalized intervention. Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.

Part-time and Full-time positions available. All training materials are provided and hours are flexible, but will include two Wednesday meetings per month from 9am-11am. Parenting experience strongly preferred (natural, foster or adoptive). Additional qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, strong documentation skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills. Additional training or experience in child welfare and/or child development is helpful. Court testimony may be required. Candidates must posses the desire and ability to embody the YWCA’s mission of empowering women and eliminating racism.
