The Governance Committee reviews nominations of new Officers and Directors and recommends qualified candidates to fill Officer and Director vacancies. The Committee is also responsible for orientation of new Board members, developing written policies to clarify the Board’s role and help the Board govern effectively, and any other duty assigned it within these Bylaws or the Board of Directors. There is a subcommittee for Membership, which facilitates engagement of community members in committees, volunteering and other benefits of membership.
The Property Committee is entrusted with the management and upkeep of the real property of the Association and such other responsibilities involving the property of the Association as shall be deemed necessary by the Board of Directors.
The Finance Committee is entrusted with overseeing the finances, investment, and investment income of the Association, and such other duties entrusted to it by the Board of Directors. The Finance Committee is responsible for screening and recruiting financial professionals to assist with the Association’s finances, including accountants and other financial and/or investment advisors. The Finance Committee will make regular reports to the Board of Directors concerning the state of the Association’s Finances.
The Mission Committee is the mechanism that the Board uses in holding itself accountable for assessing the organization’s fulfillment of its Mission.
Program Impact Committee
The Program Impact Committee is entrusted with ensuring that programs and services of the organization address important needs in the community, and connect with and serve our members who are committed to the mission. The committee will evaluate, incubate and establish a process for evaluating new programs that produce the most positive impact of the mission.
The Development Committee leads the fundraising and outreach efforts of the YWCA Lancaster through organizing, volunteering, or serving on committees for events.
